Reactor School
A Letter to the Inspiring and Dedicated Teachers in Singapore
Updated: Jun 24, 2020
This is the second piece written as part of an ongoing series, Supporting Educators Through COVID-19, providing a glimpse in the challenges educators faced during this trying period.
The past couple of months have been filled with uncertainty and budding fear.
As we witness much of the world go into lockdown due to COVID-19, many aspects of everyday life here in Singapore seem to be going on as usual. While this can be reassuring to many that the situation is under control, it does not exempt any of us from fear of the unknown. Unlike many other parts of the world, schools in Singapore have remained open, which has put immense pressure on the educators behind the scenes.
Not only has it been scary to work in the crowded environment of school (along with daily concerns of potentially bringing something home), more work has been added to your already stretched days. You now also have to plan for and create resources for one day of WFH, while juggling and tracking the health and well-being of students in school and those who are at home. With all that this burden is to carry, it has not been met with the level of appreciation that it deserves.
Here at Reactor, we just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We see all of the time, effort and bravery that you have all devoted to support your students and communities in this difficult time.
Thank you so much.
We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy. We are here to support you in any way possible.
Share to CHER on a Teacher in your life today.
Love,
Team Reactor
